How to Manage Nigerian Tailors

Sunday, 14 October 2018

Hello beautiful People, Welcome to my blog.

Most of us have gory stories to share about Nigerian Tailors....I have heard of where a tailor disappointed a bride to be on her traditional wedding day.
I have a lot of personal stories too.....like the one that still has my fabric over five years later.

or the tailor that made something entirely different from the style I chose to the one that made the style I chose with my fabric but two sizes smaller for than my size and he took my measurements

How do I manage them?

1. I tailor prostitute .... I move around A LOT

I meet a new tailor, I make one or two things and move unto the next one....I have only kept one tailor because of convenience, she delays and disappoints but working with her is convenient because she picks and drops off from my office and also sells fabrics....no time allotted for tailor chasing in my schedule.

Changing tailors has worked for me hence this beautiful dress am rocking today..... I can't even remember which of the tailors made this again....hahahaha

2. I avoid them. I do this by shopping from ready to wear brands....there are several good brands that stock affordable and fabulous pieces.

I blogged about RTW brands like SGTC Click here Lomzy Click here Unknown brand Click here House of Loocz Click here and Teethrone Click here

I wonder how the RTW brands manage with their tailors because there are very few "angel tailors".....I really do wonder how they cope since they make these clothes in bulk and for commercial purpose.

A friend of mine just won't give a deposit till the job is completed, works for her sometimes but often times the tailor just dumps her fabric....lol

Anyways that is how I avoid developing high B.P from tailor issues.

How do you manage tailor issues....what is the worst thing a tailor has done to you? If positive too, please share.....maybe I will be needing that Angel Tailor's number.

I doubt tailors abroad are like that ..... People that live or have lived abroad, is that how tailors are there too?

Why Maxis are my favourite fit: Turtle neck collar maxi dress

I got this dress from Lomzy....an online ready to wear brand.

My love for maxis knows no bounds like I said in this post where I styled another maxi dress from the same brand, Lomzy.

Maxis are a very forgiving fit and as a foodie I love wearing them as they help hide all evidence of over indulgence....fit is very summer/vacation appropriate.....and year round appropriate for Nigerians.

I styled the dress with my slatted clutch from Asos....will leave link below for you to shop.

Floral prints are classics and this neck style will never go out of style....I can't wait to restyle it.

Lomzy ships worldwide so contact them to order before it sells out....they also stock other amazing outfits in several designs, styles and vibrant prints.

This is the 2nd look I got from the face beat from Kibana's glam see post here for more

Independence day special: How I feel about Nigeria

Monday, 1 October 2018

Hello Beautiful people, welcome to My blog. Happy Independence day to my fellow Nigerians

For the benefit of my Non-Nigerian readers, Nigeria is 58 today. 58 years since we got independence from the British, our colonial masters.

My relationship with Nigeria especially in very recent times is a love-hate one

One Minute I am singing "this Nigeria is our own" "the land is green" etc and another minute I am asking somebody or surfing the web for what I need to do to get a Canadian citizenship since that is pretty easier than that of other countries.

Like today for example, there is a public holiday and PHCN decided to withhold power supply?! I planned to put this post up in the morning but that didn't work out obviously

But while reflecting...I realized that there is a lot to be grateful for so I choose to be thankful

Thankful that inspite of the predictions that Nigeria will be a failed state, we are not

Thankful that what will normally break other countries and send them to war, we are still standing....standing together

Thankful that what ever seed you put in the soil will germinate

Thankful for the natural resources which God has bestowed unto us, even though some times i feel it is the bane of our country.
Thankful for the absence of natural disasters....hopefully there is none waiting to happen

Thankful that we always find a way to make the best out of really horrible situations.

Even though like the slab I have my leg on which needs work, our country needs work but hand in hand we can make it work.....it starts with you and I.....we are the generation, we are stronger and we know better than before.

Dear Lord, put the love for one another in our hearts so that we will consider the effect our actions, inaction, decisions and the choices we make have on others always, Amen.

As a Nigerian, what are you grateful for?
